It has been a wonderful privilege to partner with our great customers in collecting funds to Kumamoto for earthquake relief. Our parent organization, Be One, currently has our fifth team down there, helping the many victims who are still displaced, have smashed homes, need food, etc.
THANK YOU to everyone for continuing to purchase from our great selections in the Kumamoto Collection. We have more of our original, limited Kumamoto lapis bracelets on line right now!
When our first Be One team was in Kumamoto the week following the two earthquakes, they helped a single mom and her two sons pull things out of their damaged home.
She kindly donated some of her beautiful broken pottery for the team to bring back to the Nozomi Project. She was so glad for it to not go to waste!
Our Nozomi team was thankful to receive her pottery, and as a small gesture we made her a gold Rumi necklace. Last week, we sent her the necklace through a friend going to help out. Isn't it beautiful? We hope to get photos of her wearing the necklace!
This last visit, other local Kumamoto residents also donated their broken valuable to Nozomi Project.
So our one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces now also include Kumamoto pottery! While we grieve for the many losses of our Kyushu friends, we love the joint cooperation and desire to make beauty from brokenness.
